I painted a set of jumbo craft sticks with a pretty rainbow for my preschooler to put together and practice reading numbers.
Reading numbers is, honestly, kind of boring.
But rainbows and puzzles are fun! And if you’re not into rainbows, that’s OK. You can paint something different.
Like a car, or a puppy, or a smiley face…
How to Make a Rainbow Counting Puzzle
While the kids were asleep, I grabbed a set of jumbo craft sticks and taped them together.

Then, I flipped them over and painted a rainbow on the other side.

Once the paint was dry, I wrote numbers on top with permanent marker.

Then, my 3-year-old, Elena put the puzzle together by lining up the numbers in order!
