This week we made two different cotton ball sheep crafts! Cotton balls are one of my favorite craft supplies.
I love using cotton balls for our kids’ crafts and other easy kids activities. They’re cheap, plentiful, and easy to find at the grocery store. I even made a whole post on activities you can do featuring cotton balls!
We always have cotton balls ready for crafts and activities. And occasionally I’ll use them to remove my nail polish 😉
I get that you need to keep your kids busy because you feel stressed about all the stuff you need to get done today. That’s why my mission is to…
1. Find fun, quality kids’ activities and show you step by step how to do them.
2. Save you time and energy by using supplies from around the house or show you where to easily get them.
3. Inspire you to be creative and play with your kids in new and exciting ways.
How We Did It
Cotton Ball Sheep Crafts for Kids
I’m going to show you two different sheep crafts using cotton balls. One is a 2D sheep and one is 3D!
Mind-blowing. I know.
The 2D Sheep
To make this cutie, we used white paper, black construction paper, glue sticks, googly eyes, and cotton balls.
First, I drew a cloud sheep body on the white paper with a marker.
Then Ella, my two-year-old, glued cotton balls to the sheep’s body.
I drew a large oval and two smaller ovals on black construction paper and cut them out.
Ella and I worked together to glue the googly eyes and ears onto the larger oval to form the sheep’s face.
Ella glued the completed face onto the sheep’s body, and I drew a little smile on the sheep with a silver permanent marker.
The 3D Sheep
To make this 3D sheep craft, we used the same materials as the 2D sheep craft and added a toilet paper tube and some pipe cleaners.
I covered the toilet paper tube with white paper so that the sheep would look white even if it wasn’t completely covered in cotton balls.
Instead of cutting off the ends, I tucked them into the tube so that we could glue the sheep’s butt and face together more easily.
Then I made a couple holes on one side of the toilet paper roll and stuck short, bent pipe cleaners in to form the sheep’s legs.
Ella got her trusty glue stick out and glued cotton balls all over the sheep.
We used white glue on the ends of the toilet paper roll and stuffed cotton balls in there to finish the sheep’s body.
Finally, we assembled the head and glued it on. Make sure the head is the same size as or just a bit bigger than the toilet paper roll opening.
Cotton balls are so perfect for sheep crafts!
