This week, we made a soft, fluffy bunny craft to celebrate the coming of spring and Easter.
Set up
To make this craft, you’ll need a few craft supplies. Feel free to substitute for items you don’t have.
- paper plate (or cardboard or paper)
- cotton balls (or tissue paper balls or white pom poms)
- pink pom pom (or pink construction paper or paint a cotton ball)
- black pipe cleaners (or yarn or construction paper strips)
- googly eyes (or make construction paper eyes)
- pink and white construction paper for the ears
- glue
Cut large bunny ear shapes out of the white paper and smaller bunny ear shapes out of pink construction paper. I just freehanded it in pencil and then cut them all out.
Cut black pipe cleaners in thirds to use as whiskers.
How We Made Our Cotton Ball Bunny Craft
I assembled the pink and white ears for each kid. Elena (age 3) glued hers to the top of the plate. I helped Lia (age 21 months) stick hers on.
One thing that was helpful about using a paper plate is that the rim made a good boundary for my littlest as she was sticking on cotton balls.
I spread glue all over her plate and she stuck the cotton balls on.
Cram as many cotton balls as you can on the plate for an extra fluffy bunny.
Next, we glued the googly eyes on.
Then a pink pom pom for the nose, and black pipe cleaners for whiskers.
Elena wanted to add legs to her bunny, so she glued two pipe cleaners on the bottom of the plate!
