Whether you’re starting a new tradition or keeping up with an old one, this list of stocking stuffer ideas for babies will help you make this your most memorable Christmas yet.
I used to struggle with figuring out what to get babies for Christmas. For my nephews, we’ve always gotten the fun stuff (i.e. toys).
Now that I’m a mom of two, I lean toward getting practical gifts and stocking stuffers. This list is kind of a mix of both fun and practical!
To help you get started, I’ve organized these stocking stuffer ideas into the following categories:
- Toys & Books
- Cute Accessories
- Food and Feeding
- Teethers & More

Toys and Books
Out of the huge selection of baby toys and books out there, these are our family’s favorites.
We’ve had these chunky mini ABC board books for a couple years and love them. They’re just the right size for little ones to hold, and they have real stories in them, not just single words or pictures. The girls love having us read these quick stories any time of day. One set of mini board books will definitely fill up a stocking!
We have this plush rattle blankie lovey and it is the softest! Our youngest loves to snuggle her little unicorn and shake it to hear the rattle. To maintain the softness, don’t put it in the dryer or the fur will get matted. This lovey comes in several different animal designs and colors.
Fat Brain Toys pipSquigz Loops are chunky silicone suction cup toys with rings. We have the original pipSquigz, which are already great, and the Loops variety looks even more entertaining!
The suction is strong so they won’t fall off the high chair or table, and they’re really fun to pull on and hear the rattle. Our youngest chews on her pipSquigz all the time.
Attachable stroller toys are a must for babies, and a set like these are inexpensive and will easily fill up a small stocking. Stroller toys can attach to the high chair (especially in conjunction with pipSquigz above), car seat, crib, most play gyms, and even to each other. Think outside the stroller and you’ll find so many different places to play with stroller toys!
Crinkle Paper for babies is a favorite sensory toy for our family. Stick one where baby can kick it when they’re under 2 months, and older babies will love crumpling it and hearing the crinkle sound. This particular design has a strap to hook onto the stroller or high chair. Also, the high contrast black and white pattern is easiest for tiny newborns to see and discover.
Soft baby activity books are the best. You can read the story to them, then let them explore the flaps, textures, and surprises in the book on their own. This one is Baby Shark (doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo).
Don’t you wish every day were Taco Tuesday? For your baby, it can be! I think this set is hilarious, and my toddler would get a kick out of this for sure. Sushi and breakfast lovers, rejoice, because there are also sets for you. Find the sushi set here and the breakfast set here.
Peek-a-boo books (also lift-a-flap) are so fun to read with babies. This soft baby book is easy to stash in your to-go bag and baby will love lifting the flaps and discovering the animals hiding underneath.
Indestructibles books feel like paper, but are incredibly rip-proof. A friend gifted us this book three years ago, and two babies later, it’s still going strong. There are several books in the series, but my favorite is Baby Faces because our babies each learned some of their first words with this book: “uh-oh” and “yuck.”
Baby Einstein Take-Along-Tunes is the musical toy we’ve taken everywhere since both our kids were little babies. It’s small, plays music, flashes lights, and keeps baby entertained while trapped in the car.
I cannot get over how cute these hedgehog shakers are. I love the muted colors and the bumpy, textured “quills.” Our babies have always loved shaking rattles, and these twin hedgehogs would’ve been fun for them to play with.
If you need rattles for the car, I recommend these wrist and foot rattles. They safely attach to baby’s wrist and feet so they won’t get lost on the floor.
Babies can start tracking moving objects with their eyes at around three months. Finger puppets are a great way to play with your baby. Tell stories, sing songs (like the finger family song!), or make silly sounds with these finger puppets and watch your baby’s eyes light up. I like that this set includes both animals and humans and that this toy will grow with baby into childhood!
Cute Accessories
Chenille pom pom baby beanies are so stinking adorable. I’m a knitter, and I absolutely love chenille because it’s so soft and fuzzy. The furry pom pom makes this number one on my baby hat list. Aaaaand…. these come in a three-pack. Unbelievable. I can’t decide if I want the pink/white/grey or the red/black/grey. Should I just get them all?
You could get normal baby socks, but those are no fun. Socks with funny quotes are both practical and fun. Bonus points if you can match the socks’ sayings with baby’s onesies.
Baby leg warmers are perfect for cold winter months. Add this extra layer over leggings to keep baby’s legs toasty warm, or wear over bare legs with a onesie. I love the buffalo check pattern for Christmas!
I’ve always loved these stretchy, thick celtic knot headbands on babies. The wide band helps keep ears warm and is more comfortable than the thinner headbands. I love the more muted colors in this set, especially that golden turmeric!
Food and Feeding
Bamboo and silicone feeding spoons make a practical and beautiful stocking stuffer with several different colors available. The handles are made of bamboo and are sturdy and nice to hold. I love that they’re not made of plastic.
You can get infant spoons here if your baby is a self-feeder. Note that because of the wood, these spoons are not dishwasher safe.
These are our favorite sippy cups: the Munchkin Miracle 360 cup. It’s spill proof, and the spoutless design means kids can drink from any side of the cup. Our girls started drinking from these at 7 months and our oldest transitioned to an open cup around 3 years old.
The top silicone part (colored part) detaches from the lid (white part), which unscrews from the cup for easy cleaning. I take ours apart and wash them in the dishwasher. Easy peasy.
Waterproof baby smocks are really nice to have at home and especially for going out. The full-sleeved design helps your baby’s whole outfit stay clean throughout mealtime, which means you can keep that back-up outfit safely in the bag… for now.
We also like using these for our messy toddler activities!
Fill a stocking with your baby’s favorite foods. Fruit food pouches are a favorite special treat for our girls. They still enjoy applesauce in a pouch when we’re on the go. Save those colorful caps for toddler activities like this one!
Teethers & More
These absorbent bandana bibs were a lifesaver with our youngest. The best part about these cute bibs is the fleece backing that keeps the moisture from soaking your baby’s clothes. It’s incredible and absolutely adorable. I highly recommend these for Christmas and baby shower gifts!
Sophie La Giraffe is a classic baby toy for good reason. Babies can chew and squeeze to their hearts content, and Sophie will smile and squeak through it all. I have no idea why babies love this giraffe, but our kids just do!
This banana toothbrush is a must for babies. Once babies have teeth, you won’t want to use a finger toothbrush anymore. Our youngest looooves chewing on this toothbrush. It’s easy for babies to hold, and the soft bristles are nice for gums.
The Bebe cookie teether and clip is a fun and practical toy/teether for baby’s stocking. This one comes with a clip with chew beads, but you can also detach the cookie teether and/or wear it on a necklace if you’d rather not attach it to baby. Also comes in pink with the pacifier clip, or red, green, and black without the clip.
Other Ideas
Christmas ornament for baby is a sweet little gift. Start a tradition of getting your child a new ornament every year and they’ll treasure each one for years to come.

- lotion
- baby soap
- baby shampoo
- food pouches
- teething biscuits
- puffs or yogurt melts
- wipes and diapers
