Use any of these bath toys with your kids to add some excitement (and distraction) to your bath-time routine. Trust me, they help!
The list is mostly interchangeable, but I did separate the bath toys that are geared a little more for babies and a second list geared slightly more for toddlers.
TIP: I try to avoid any bath toys that fill with water in a way you can’t completely empty them as they tend to be more prone to mildew and mold.

18 Awesome Bath Toys for Babies and Toddlers
I always find when things get a little crazy, adding a toy to the tub almost always does the trick.
Probably because we have some pretty awesome bath toys to choose from.
Bath Toys for Babies
These Munchkin bath toys have 6 multi-colored boats that float and link together to create a cute little boat train. There’s rarely a bath where these boats aren’t played with at our house!
This purple floating octopus is another favorite of ours. It comes with rings you can toss onto its tentacles. For some reason this toy also is the favorite for our girls to “pretend wash” while they’re getting clean.
This cute penguin comes in blue or pink. Just wind up the wings and watch it actually swim through the water!
We love these 8 stacking cups to play with in and out of the tub. They have unique holes in the bottom that let water pass through in different ways for extra bath time fun!
Mickey is here and ready to play! This set comes with 3 balls that float in the water and can be placed in Mickey’s hoop. Suction cups stick the hoop to the wall easily. Great for developing hand-eye coordination!
This adorable whale spout cover makes bath time safer and more fun. My girls love seeing him on the spout and it has more than once prevented a “conk” on the had from the hard water spout! I highly recommend this one!
These books are super fun and also have toys that go along with the story. We have the Three Little Duckies book and it was well loved by our girls. Our oldest even said her first word, “duck” while looking at this book in the bath! TIP: If your ducks have holes, seal them up with hot glue before they get wet.
Okay you may not normally think about using these in the bathtub, but hear me out. Seeing a tub full of floating plastic eggs really gets our kids excited for bath time. Plus there’s tons of ways to play with these in the tub! This set has 144 pcs so you can use them in other ways as well.
Again, I prefer the solid toys when it comes to water play. Too, many squeeze and spray toys are prone to mold in my experience. That’s why I love these floating foam bath animals. They’re cute, colorful and can even stick to the bathtub wall when they’re wet!
Bath Toys for Toddlers
Check out this magnetic fishing rod and underwater bobbing characters which float to the top which make them easier to catch. Best of all, there are no hollow parts to collect water minimizing the chance of getting any mold.
These 36 bath letters and numbers are perfect for bath time. For some reason this is when our foam letters get played with the most!
Okay this one is awesome. Create your own series of suction pipes that funnel water down back into the tub. This set comes with 5 pipes of different shapes that can be arranged in a variety of ways!
Make bath time even more exciting with these spinner bath toys. The cute animal figures suction to the bath and spin as water pours over them!
These musical dolphin toys can be connected in a circle or a line. Each dolphin sounds a different note when tapped. The rings are also detachable which make for a fun color matching game with the rings and the dolphins!
This toy organizer from tub cubby is just what you need to keep your toys clean and organized. The mesh netting allows toys to continue to dry while it hangs on the wall with suction cups. I know it’s not glamorous, but it gets the job done.
9 Crayola bath crayons perfect for drawing in the tub. (I find the crayons write better than the marker option.) The 60 Color Bath Dropz also change the color of the water which always creates excitement in our home! Just wipe clean with a wet washcloth.
Our youngest is obsessed with giving baths to her baby dolls. We play with this set in the bathtub as well as for giving “pretend baths” without water. We chose this set because of all the accessories that come with it including pretend baby wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, a bath towel, pretend soap, and a soap dish. She absolutely loves it!
Tips for Extra Bath Fun
Here are a few additional things you can do to add more fun to bath time:
- Add bubbles. Either bubble bath or blow bubbles, both are equally fun and distracting.
- Dye the bath water with food coloring. I don’t recommend yellow. Or red.
- Bring a plastic toy in to wash. Baby dolls, cars, bouncy balls… etc. An added bonus is that these toys get a good cleaning!
- Let them play with a clean sponge in the bath.
Well, that’s all I have for you today.
I hope there was a least one thing in this list of bath toys that you really liked!
